Although Craig Black has a 2.5 point lead heading into tonight’s game, his lead could shrink quickly since tonight’s game is worth two points. Because none of our contestants correctly predicted the winner of the Rutgers’ game, that point rolls over to this week. Although everyone thinks the Bearcats will win, there is a wide variety of scores with the margin of victory ranging from 4 to 28 points. As an extra incentive for UC, this will be Senior Night, and for one of our prognosticators, it will be an emotional evening.
Here are this week’s predictions.
Brian Lambert (Kowboy)
Senior Night! Pat Lambert will run into Nippert Stadium with his teammates for the last time as a Cincinnati Bearcat. Pat will finish his career with over fifty tackles and an interception. Pat will have earned four varsity letters, will have attended four bowl games, and will wear three Big East championship rings. He will earn his degree in Health Education this spring and hopes to be a college strength coach. Even though the last two years have been frustrating for him as an individual, he remains a good teammate, an important member of the special teams, and by all accounts, a hard worker. I could not be prouder of Pat Lambert. The Lambert family would like to thanks all the coaches and support staff, past and present, All the players and families, past and present, and the Bearcat fans for a fantastic five years. Love you #13!
Cincinnati 38 USF 13 (Cincinnati +25)
*Brian Lambert is Pat’s father.
Keith Stichtenoth (Fitzwalter)
This week’s game is a matter of doing some very simple arithmetic analysis:
A load of Bull + A lost season for the Green & Gold + Late November 773-mile flight to Cincy + Heaping helpings of Trytophan + 3rd-string USF QB (Gee, doesn’t Matt Grothe have a 9th year of eligibility?) + Chronic underachievers anyway + UC putting some salve on the Rutgers sting + The Seductive Clarion Call of the Belk Bowl + ”Everybody clap your hands!” (clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap) + Manageable lines for the porta-potties + Skip to my Dr. Lou + Senior Night = UC 30-12.
Cincinnati 30 USF 12 (Cincinnati +18)
Howard Kaplan (Hercules)
I’m sorry we won’t see B.J. Daniels in there, as we always seemed to play well against him. Maybe he’ll come back next year, his 9th at USF. Anyway, I don’t have a good feeling about this game, and it’s likely that all of my fellow prognosticators expect a wider margin of victory. I have more questions than answers at this point. Can our offense rebound after a poor showing against Rutgers? Will this be the game where USF puts it all together and plays to its potential? Will this be the game where Munchie is re-born? I’ll be watching.
Cincinnati 24 USF 17 (Cincinnati +7)
Craig Black (Cincy Bearcat)
Senior night, under the lights, and on national TV. UC comes out strong and fast and jumps out to an early lead and puts an unmotivated USF team away early. I expect a big game from George Winn and for the backups to get plenty of playing time. Also hoping that Coach Jones listened to my tweet to him and if the opportunity presents itself, Walter Stewart takes the final snap out of the victory formation.
Cincinnati 38 USF 10 (Cincinnati +28)
Michael Boston (michaelboston)
Michael didn’t have time to provide the reasons for his pick, but he does see the Bearcats winning a close one.
Cincinnati 24 USF 20 (Cincinnati +4)
