Jones Headed to Tennessee

Just one day after declining the head football position at Colorado, Butch Jones accepted the job to lead Tennessee’s football program.

Jones led the Bearcats to a share of two straight Big East titles in his three seasons at Cincinnati. His three year record at UC was 23-14.

When Jones left Central Michigan three years ago, defensive line coach, Steve Stripling, served as the Chippewas’ “interim” head coach for their bowl game, and that will also be the case for the Bearcats when they play Duke on Thursday, December 27 in the Belk Bowl.
