Our fans were booing while up 23-7 to D. state!

I will never boo the Bearcats. I think ProSports are different, but I don't recall booing there either.

Booing not for me ! But I feel fans feel since they've paid money for their seats gives them an opportunity/right to show their displeasure. Is it right or wrong ? I don't know ! good topic

Maybe they shouldn't keep score either. It is only costing around 30-50K for each player to be on the team each year. It is not like they are lining up to get a pretzel rod and a Sunny Delight after the game.

I guess I just think that booing in certain situations is not a big deal and should motivate the players a little.

This. Don't boo your own team. Applaud for them to get better.

It didn't help Cronin, and it won't help butch. I know recruits at this game who attended other team's games earlier and they noticed.

Unfortunately it is the reality of the world we live in. People take their college football very seriously. I think just about every team now has had the run in with the boo-birds. Even here in Columbus the Bucknut faithful were booing the Buckeye football team last season something awful. On one hand it is very hurtful if you are the coach/players but on the other hand maybe it is a sign the fans care and want better for the team/program.

I have been to Ohio State, Georgia, Louisville, Purdue and Kentucky where I know I heard the boo birds( I got to experience some bad games, at least for OSU, Georgia and Louisville but they all won), as fas as the team not looking up to par against the opponent. I know second hand from people who go to ND, Michigan, WVU and Illinois that the fans boo on a regaular basis if the team looks really bad. Not that this makes it right or wrong. This has obviosuly not had an impact on recruiting for these teams or Iowa and Michigan St. who were mentioned in Tim's first post. People "booing" a college team is not that big of a deal. If you compare maybe 10,000 fans who were booing UC last week out of 27,000 in the stadium against 75-100K against one of the schools I mentioned above, it is laughable to even think about. It has no impact on anything. We clap and yell when they do good things right, so occasioanlly you can't boo?

I have also had football and basketball players at UC tell me things along the lines of "you guys were jerks when you booed, but we deserved it" while they laughed and understood they would do the same thing if they were in the seats rather than on the field/court. I have also had basketball players boo at football games and had a couple football players boo the basketball team when I was sitting next to them. I think people are being too sensitive to think it has an impact on anything or that it is a big deal. I do not boo much but I will if they are playing and having play calls like last week. I am not saying I am right or wrong.

* Booing did not help Mick but Mick was in a different situation and fans were not used to what he had to deal with. There were not many fans in the seats when Mick came in and I do not ever remeber any booing but maybe I blocked it out. I guess everything worked out and it would not have worked out any faster reagrdless if people showed emotion.

I know there was booing at timesand maybe I just expected some considereing the situation. It was not that big of a deal though and regardless if it was right or wrong, some people were going to boo regardless of the results. The sign was brought in not last season but the one before, which was four seasons in and a year the team eneded up having a good year. It was right in front of me as was the "Mick's March Sadness" sign which I had something to say to the guys(after the game) and their tale's went between their legs. That was just the same people who did not want Mick to succeed for some reason. The signs were right in front of me both times.
