The Wednesday game at Memphis really ticks me off...was looking forward to a nice long weekend of BBQ and Bearcat football. Won't be able to swing it during the middle of the week.
Such a joke to have a game on a Wednesday night @ Memphis. The only decent road trip in conference and they screw us with a Wednesday.
Also not happy to have a Friday night home game in October due to HS football still going on.
I dont mind the 2 weeks to prep for UL on Dec 5th,
On the postiive side we play UofL on a Thursday night to close out the season. Hopefully the conference title and the BCS birth will be on the line for that one.
Only hate the Memphis game b/c I was gonna go...dont really care about weekday games as a whole
I tweeted Whit and Nick Carparelli hoping to get some explanation how the team whose won 3 of last 4 BE titles gets stuck with the only wed game in the league

The sad thing is we won't probably draw well for Temple regardless of when we play them, but the fact it is a Friday night makes the possibility of a poor crowd all more likely. To top it off it will be on nationally televised for the world to see our bleachers.
Exactly Dave*. The bigger point is along with Louisville and Rutgers, nobody has had the football television ratings we have had over the past few years. Nobody watches football on a Wednesday night. We should be player later in the week. Let Memphis play Temple or Houston on that night.
* To be a stickler, it's actually 4 out of the last 5.
Nothing says COLLEGE FOOTBALL like a Wenesday evening game in Memphis. The only good aspect of that game is the fact that there may be as many Bearcat fans in the stands as there are Tiger fans.
Looking for the silver lining, maybe the thought is that we are one of the only teams that will garner a decent ratings share on a Wednesday night. Both Rutgers and L'ville are headed out the door. Why give them a 3 hour commercial to promote their program, that will be elsewhere in 2014. Not sure that is a real silver lining but I am grasping at straws here.
Go Bearcats. Beat Purdue.
True. 3 hours of UC taking Memphis to the woodshed...at least we wont have to worry about laying an egg on national tv...even if only the cincinnati market is watching.
People will watch the Memphis game b/c college football is only getting more popular, I'm just pissed b/c I wanted to go and now I cant
Lets see we get the ONLY Wed. night game in the league and the UL game will be on a Thurs. What a big kick in the pants ESPN, thanks!
We will need to have a pretty good record to get a decent national tv crowd for Temple. Those first 2 weeks vs. the Big 10 will be huge. Also, bullcrap that U of L is a Thursday game imo. This is arguably one of the biggest games on the conference slate. The more I look at this, the bigger those first 2 weeks look. Hope the new staff can get us acclimated.

I was looking at Memphis' schedule. The could legitimately be 0-6 coming into that game.... best case scenario maybe 1-5. (they lost to Duke, MTSU and Arky State last year). That will make for an ugly home crowd.
Sat., Sept. 7 Duke
Sat., Sept. 14 at Middle Tennessee
Sat., Sept. 21 Arkansas State
Sat., Oct. 5 UCF *
Sat., Oct. 12 at Houston *
Sat., Oct. 19 SMU *
Wed., Oct. 30 Cincinnati * (8 pm, ESPN2)
Sat., Nov. 9 Tennessee-Martin
Sat., Nov. 16 at USF *
Sat., Nov. 23 at Louisville *
Sat., Nov. 30 Temple *
Thu., Dec. 5 at Connecticut *

The bye weeks are really nicely spread out this season. I'm definitely going to have to go to that Houston game.
Agree, had a nice group willing to attempt the trip as well. Sucks.
Very manageable schedule. And our three toughest games (at least I figure) will be the three last (although USF is a complete wildcard at this point). With a new coach, I always wanted to see our toughest games late.
If we are 5-0 going into the Temple game, and still draw a poor crowd, then we have only to look into the mirror for the blame.
One good conference game, and it's in December, and on a Thursday. If anyone needs tickets for that one, let me know. As an out of towner, I won't be making that one. In fact, am going to have to think hard before renewing.
Agree. I was looking forward to driving to the Memphis game. Not now.
I don't blame you a bit. While possible to justify a day off or two here and there, that particular date falls too close to Thanksgiving to consider doing that.
Agreed BJ. But momentum is everything. Being undefeated makes the bandwagon fans come out of the woodwork.
Just win, baby'
In box me re 'Ville tickets.
When they came in the early 2000's (2003?) the crowd was over 30K for Temple... just sayin'.
I'd bitch, but why bother. We're Espin's new whipping post. Can't wait for another Sunday game at home with bengals in town too.
Memphis only trip I was already planning. What a sham.
Why are we told to not judge Islam by the actions of a few extremists, but judge all gun owners by the actions of a few killers?
Wasn't that the 2-for-1 nite?
