Here we go Boise State has made its decision. That said the Mountain West has given in too much to Boise State, this will cause major issues for years to come in the Mountain West.
Sorry, but I have nothing from my sources on San Diego State. That said, I believe San Diego State has no choice but to jump ship as well. Unfortunately, for San Diego State they will not get the deal Boise State received.
This will leave the Big East at 10 teams for the 2013 football season. Expect the Big East to add Tulane and East Carolina a year earlier, so they can finalize the television contract and move forward.
Then we wait for the Maryland lawsuit to resolve itself, and then chaos will ensue yet again.
What a mess!!!!!!!!
I'm no lawyer, but doesn't the fact that no one has had to pay entire exit fee amounts bold well for Maryland?
I forgot to mention, keep an ear to the news Friday and Saturday. Hearing the departing Big East schools will meet, and may attempt to hold up Big East efforts to add Tulane and East Carolina a year early, as part of their negotiation to retain the Big East name.
Also, Conference USA is putting together an expansion package to include the leftover Big East schools.
Again, what a mess!!!
Keep an eye on Ohio U, Western Kentucky, and Northern Illinois, appears to be some lobbying going on with these three schools.
Lobbying for what? CUSA?
Geezus christ, do we have a left testicle to give the acc? the whole package? what do we have to do?
Do these conferences realize that if we are a valuable market for future expansion, the longer they wait the more potential damage is done to the available product in that market?
i agree. if we are sitting around 2 yrs from now in a league with a bunch of schools like tulane, southern miss, or what have you, we will have lost all the fan interest and our recruiting will be for shyte. meanwhile, if uofl keeps the series with us we will become a body bag game for them.
The sooner they get us out, the better the chance they get us at a high point.
Apparently there is no TV deal for basketball for next year. So whatever happens it will probably need to happen sooner rather than later.
