I, like 99% of you are not happy with our conference situation. The monetary disparity between us and the Power 5 is sickening and keeps us at mid-major status. HOWEVER, I find it interesting to take a look at some of our conference mates' future home-and-home non-conference schedules. To me, this shows that the big boys still view the AAC as peer schools (somewhat) Take a look:
UCONN: UM and Maryland at home in 13'. BYU and Boise at home in 14'. Tenn at home in 15'. Virginia in 16'.
SMU: home-and homes with Baylor, Texas Tech, Tex A&M
UCF: home and home with South Carolina, Maryland, Penn State
USF: home and home with Miami (fl) Michigan State, NC State
Cincy: BYU, Purdue
Houston: BYU in 13'-14'
Temple: home and homes with Notre Dame, Penn State
Memphis: home-and-homes with Duke, Ole Miss, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and UCLA (wow)
Tulane: Duke, Georgia Tech, Wake Forrest
Tulsa: home and home with Oklahoma, Iowa State
ECU: home and home with UNC, WVU, VT, South Carolina, BYU (wow again)
Navy: Notre Dame every year, Ohio State in MD in 2014
@Creid85 UC class of 10'
The very best thing we can do is put solid wins on the board next fall against Purdue and Illinois.
We have a good team and from what we have heard and what I saw yesterday - a very good coaching staff. Next year is our time before the money crunch starts.
From my brief exposure to CTT yesterday - I am confident he can be a really good rain maker for the program.
Why the heck is it so much harder for us to get these games than anyone else???
Because a loss to us hasn't be legitimized yet. Yes we've been successful but we have yet to gain national approval from the powers to be. Yet we're still a tough out. Unlike a lot of other teams on that list. Boise has earned respect from everyone. We're a big game win away.

CSNbbs bearcat banter as CincyBearcatfan86 I have been a bearcat BB fan since 1993 I am a grad of Maryland class of 2009 & UC grad of 2012
Hey where is TDbearcat I told this dude when one gets kicked someone will replace him...
New name, non member. Same guy?
First thing I thought when I read the post.
Nailed it. Its for mainly two reasons I believe. 1. Stadium 2. Money. We have everything else. Fans, TV Market, City, Atmosphere etc. I think the biggest thing is most schools that are large like Tenn, Texas, Oklahoma, etc want to play us in PBS. The big problem with that is, we lost money in the passed. Whit and Ono neither one wants us at PBS unless they think we can get around 80% or more of it filled and that is hard to do. The Bengals can't even get that many people half the time.
I am worried a little with the AAC and crap money etc, but with Ono, Whit and Coach Tubs we are in great shape moving forward into the future and I wouldn't be surprised to see us playing in the ACC a lot sooner than later. AAC is ok for next year but after that it's time to blow this popsicle stand!
We Bleed Red! We Bleed Black! We Bleed Passion! We Are Bearcats!
I agree to some extent.
UC (like most programs) schedules a couple of easy wins each year to boost its Win-Lose record. Early in year we schedule easy to see which players can play.
For the big boys, UC is too good of a program to schedule an easy win. Also, too much of a risk to lose, without much to gain.
I agree with the OP, we need to upgrade the schedule. It cannot be just the stadium issue, that seems like a cop out. But regardless, we are with our peers in the new AAC. Not much to complain about for Bearcat fans.
Not sure if im the same guy...I have posted a few responses in the past, but this is my first and only thread started. Im a recent UC grad and decided to post here bc this board is by far the most intellegent. What's the membership cost and benfits? Does UCATS include this site?
I think mine is like 8 bucks a month or something. Not 100% sure.
Paging Chad and Tim...
I'll give you one shot because I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. How exactly is UC "with our peers"? UC has not been on the same level as most of the teams in the AAC in years. There is no way not to see the upcoming situation as anything other than a step backwards. Yes, the conference will allow exposure, but I am not sure about the quality of that exposure. Every article I've seen posted on various sporting news sites always takes a stab at the AAC and the teams in it. I do not think this conference will be taken seriously, and UC doesn't have the luxury of waiting 10 years while this conference attempts to catch up if the intent is for it to be considered part of the big time. I doubt that would ever happen anyway. So please explain your comment "our peers" or you will go on ignore, too.
We have similar athletic department budgets, attendance for football, and US NEWS academic rankings. Unfortunately in the game of conference realignment, on field and on court success doesn't outweigh those others factors I just outlines. No worries, guys. Just chill.
Many posters, including me, have explained that what you are saying is both logically flawed, and not true.
Dude, BCJ broke up with you. I don't know how to explain it any better. Its over. You need to move on.
UC LCoB '12 - @RyanTJBauer
Just relax bro. I have no clue what you are talking about.
