FSU may sue WVU

  • wvu is a mess....

FSU 'forced' to sue West Virginia?

West Virginia, already with a pending lawsuit against the Big East, may have more litigation on its hands. Florida State athletic director Randy Spetman on Saturday said that the university in the com

  • How is anything gonna be settled for next season with regards to scheduling if this keeps getting dragged out?

  • I am guessing the Noles pick up one of their future conference buddies, Syracuse or Pitt, to fill the void on their schedule.

  • West Virginia is special. It better hope that the Texas stays in the Big 12 because they are making a lot of enemies right now.

  • Maybe if someone makes an example of WV, this insanity will stop. Not getting my hopes up.

  • The hillbillies must have a lot of dough to throw around because they sure are getting sued enough!

How are they looking now, oh vaunted Big 12?

  • There is a loophole in the agreement ... as long as FSU can replace WVU with a "BCS Caliber" school then they buy-out is moot and no right to sue ... one thing being thrown around right now is to use either UC, Syracuse, or Rutgars to fill out FSU's schedule and to fill the void left in on of those three schools from WVU's departure so you all might see FSU on ur schedule as an away game instead of going to Morgantown this year

RU is negotiating with Oklahoma. I doubt they'd take OU and FSU on in one season when they rarely play D-1 caliber teams in OOC annually. Unfortunately ( unless the date is changed ), that game date is in Sept and UC already has VT and Toledo on the road. I can't see us taking on FSU down there that early. Our team is too undefined and transitioning to be ready for that.

Q - would any BE team step up and fill this void for WVU after WVU deserted them ? Hmmm ?

they might not have much of a choice as this was a BE contract game from the originial raid from the ACC taking Miami, VT, and BC

Well then it sounds like its a problem between WV and the ACC. The two of them can decide who's going to pay the Big East. The arrogance is sickening.

You would be surprised at the amount of money SOME people have in WV. One word.......COAL.

On a different note, I happen to know a few big money WVU boosters that are appalled at the way Oliver Luck is running this athletic department going all the way back to hiring Holgordrunkersen. They aren't happy.

Coal has nothing to do with it.
Any student/alum should get nervous and start questioning a university amd especially its AD when reckless abandon and disregard for contracts, agreements is the mode du jour.
Unless their self-owned insurance company has uber deep pockets, I'd start watching how these potential lawsuits might affect the bottom line, coal or not, not to mention starting a rep as the Sue Me U.

I was just saying there are more wealthy people than one would think that live in WV. One of those reasons is the Coal.

  • We were going to play to$u and VT in Sep. then the Bockeyes chickened out. If this game could be played here I would be OK with that. Going down there when we have to go on the road to VT and Toledo is crazy and setting us up for failure.

Fully agree. We should take this game ONLY if it's a 1 and 1, and if it's played later in the schedule. No way we play at VT and at Toledo and at FSU in Sept.

  • I say since they need someone badly here is the deal. The game is played at PBS in November this year and we go down there next year. We all know those Florida teams can not play in the cold. I remember when Miami played in the Champs Bowl in Orlando in Dec. it was in the 50s they were wearing long sleeves and had heaters on the sidelines. They lost.

FSU needs a HOME game. They need an opponent to come to Tallahassee. Again, I'd say let's do it, but let's do it during one of their bye weeks later in the year....not in September. Then arrange a pay-back game for 2013 / 2014.

BTW, if we go to a 9 game BE schedule in 2013, we'll have a decent schedule with CT, RU, USNA, UL, USF, UCF, and possibly UH, SMU, and BSU. That's starting to get attractive. No reason we shouldn't draw at home.
