Carson Field Football Board

Current Big East did pretty well, if you don't count the two that are leaving. Rutgers, USF, UCONN, and Temple all won even though they played poor opponents. Louisville plays a Kentucky team that the Big East needs Louisville to beat. We are seen as a bad enough conference and we can't have the team that everyone is predicting to be our champion losing to the worst team in the SEC.

The ACC has to be excited to be getting Syracuse and Pitt. Pitt loses badly to an FCS opponent and Syracuse loses to a bottom of the barrel Big 10 team.

Future Big East teams did pretty awful. Memphis lost to an FCS team. Houston loses pretty badly to Texas State. Boise loses close to MSU. Navy got trounced by Notre Dame. SDSU loses to Washington. UCF was the only future member so far to get a win, although it was over Akron. SMU gets to play Baylor tonight. Hopefully they do better then the rest.

I hope the rest of the year doesn't go this way. The Big East is going to be seen as distancing itself even further from the top 5 conferences if we add teams that are playing like that. I know this is just the first weekend of the season, but this couldn't be the bright future that the Big East was expecting when adding these teams.
