Question about AD

  • Hey guys,

    I am a visitor from over on the Tennessee site. I know how it feels to lose your coach, it sucks, but I am not coming here to rub it in anyone's face. I was just wondering how you guys feel about your Athletic Director? I am watching the press conference now, and just wondering how you guys feel about things he said, and how he plans on doing this search.

  • No college in Division 1 in the past 20 years has had more successful coaches on it's sidelines than Cincinnati. So I think we'll be fine. I'll respect whatever Whit does because I know he only wants what is best for Cincinnati and doing it his way will in all likelihood be the most successful way to make sure some other school doesn't come poaching given our track record.

    I think he said what he meant and meant what he said. And I agree with the post a couple above this about Whit and his ability.

    Good luck. Coach Jones is a tireless worker and a great motivator. He will likely do a good job. But I don't think that will satisfy the alumni and fans at Tennessee.

  • Whit showed a lot of character. He was open and honest about what happened, he didn't slant CBJ. Time will tell as I have no doubt when Coach Strong turned it down, he knew he would get offered. We needed to hear that there is a plan on thing here like facilities that need to be addressed. We needed to show leadership as I truly believe he will do great things at UC. I like people that showed emotion. It was good to hear the timeline of the events that happened and he is committed to finding the right coach.
