  • I agree with almost everything, except UCONN. I could see them losing anywhere from 1-4: Marq, @ Nova, Syracuse and potentially at Prov. You don't know what you are going to get with them. They are really struggling and unless they can really pull themselves together, could go down the drain and miss the tourney.

UL is another team that is tough to forecast. I could see them losing 3 like you have or maybe just losing 1. They are hot and Pitino's teams always get hot at the end of the year. I wouldn't be surprised if they knock off Cuse tonight.

  • Pretty much agree but i could see ul stealing the home game against syracuse. Call me crazy. I am starting to worry about geting four more wins.

As am I. I'm very worried about coming up winless against Marquette and Louisville. So hopefully we don't drop any other ones.

Well, i was wrong about ul tonight. Lets hope i am wrong about having a bad feeling about getting four more wins.

  • just update schedules above and new records

  • I think it is in our interests to root on Sunday for Pitt to take care of USF.

USF beat Villanova -- minus Maalik Wayns -- last night to improve to 16-10 and 9-4. That's the most BE wins they've ever recorded, but their final five league games are very hard. Still, I would expect some excitement down there.

So they play at Pitt on Sunday in a rematch of a big USF win from a couple of weeks ago in Tampa. Then they play at Syracuse on Wednesday. I'd much rather go in there with them really out of the at-large picture at 16-12 then having them harbor great hopes that they can sneak into the tourney with a couple of wins against their closing schedule (which then ends after us with games at Louisville and vs. WVU.) They are in a posiltion somewhat like ours in February of a year ago. Their best win to date is over Seton Hall, so while they have beaten some people in the league, they don't have and really need a couple of signature wins. But again, they've never even been in this good of shape before this late, so they've got nothing to lose.

    2 Marq 14-4
    3 ND 14-4
    4 Gtown 12-6

    6 UL 11-7
    7t UConn 9-9
    7t Wvu 9-9
    7t SH 9-9
    7t USF 9-9

  • Our remaining schedule is more favorable than most, USF probably has the toughest, Louisville's isn't too good either, a # of tough games; at this point they are all tough, no givens.

But looking ahead to MSG,the above post has UC playing Pitt, Gtown, Syr, then ND or Marq./not a tournament anyone wants to even think about-the only advantage being each being name schools which should be easy to get up for.

5th would actually be good to get an extra win in the Big East tournament...

  • Four very difficult games on our plate. USF and 'Nova on the road will be no picnic. Need two wins, minimum, plus 1-2 in MSG.

I don't think we'll lose the last 4, but I do see us as an underdog in every one of them, and I can't project us as favored to win any one of the last 4.. They do present a really stern test for a team that needs to finish well. I have an ominous feeling we'll go 10-8 and then get screwed because of our OOC schedule.

  • Villanova is as close to a much win as it gets. I know it is on the road, but they are not a very good team. They are 10-7 at home this year and are 3-4 at home in the conference. They have 4 total conference wins and only Seton Hall at home as one of them that are against any of the top 13 teams in the conference. I know they are probably better than that record and gave us a game at home, but if you want to be in the tournament then you have to win a game like that.

The last 4 games are essentially coin flips according to KenPom. We are most favored in the Louisville game where we are 54% to win and the toughest game is Marquette where we are 48% to win.
