I'm sure it isn't JD playing well since he's going to redshirt, right?? (Wink wink)

One more question, how does Mick free up a scholarship??
There are many ways to do it. I remember at one point Huggins had 6 signed and only 4 openings. These things work out. SK early?, Medical redshirt?, Gynn, Sanders, Gaines, or JD transfer? We don't know but these things always work out. Mick knows the answer and we just have to wait. But it ALWAYS works out.
I think this signing makes it more likely that Guyn is the starting PG next year. With a lineup of Guyn, SK, Rubles, Lawrence, Jackson, there should be enough scoring and there are 3 great passers out there. Guyn will have the most returning experience and can play "D" already the way Mick likes. He shouldn't have to worry about scoring, just about playing D and getting the offense started. Of course, I think Caupain and maybe even JD will be given opportunities in the pre-season. I just don't know that you want a freshman starting at PG. Especially one who is making a transition from SG to PG or a guy coming off a redshirt year who wasn't able to win the backup spot this year. 'Cats brings up an interesting point about Rubles at PG as a point-forward and it would make for an interesting look if Rubles can handle it and Shaq is ready to contribute significantly next year. Imagine a Rubles/SK/Thomas/Lawrence/Jackson lineup...

Huge get for Mick and the program. I truly hope people realize and appreciate what Mick has and will continue to do as UC head coach. Hell, with Loserville's win today UC can absolutely win the Big East this year and next year is already shaping up to be just as promising!!!!
i had a similar thought about titus ala the way james white handled to ball a lot his senior year after watching titus face full court pressure and bring the ball up a few times.
i'd like to pose this to you or chad or anyone with contact to the coaching staff- who is considered to be the second best ball handler on the team? is it guyn? is it shaq or titus? parker still doesn't feel steady with the ball, and we all know SK doesn't exactly have the best handle out there...
I am so happy right now. Life is Good! -- Jermaine Lawrence (@mainestory)
Any chance one of the other new recruits doesn't make it to Clifton now?

I usually don't watch videos. They typically don't reveal that much too me. This one is unreal. Can't believe there
is ahigh school player better than this guy.
Awesome awesome news, is it April yet so we can seal this thing??
"He who knows most, knows best how little he knows."
Awesome ball player and even better, he seems like a solid individual with a good head on his shoulders and supportive parents (well mom at least).
Whats the deal with the Lavin comments? Does he have a background of paying players? I don't recall him ever being investigated for anything with the NCAA. Is it just sour grapes cause we have lost recruits to him? Or do all his players drive Escalades?
He's got a background and the Obekpa recruitment is considered one of the dirtiest recruitments in the past decade.
Can you expand on this? I know this post is on Lawrence so I don't want to detract from that but I have been hearing from many people how dirty Lavin is, and I am wondering why if so many people know this, how come the NCAA hasn't stepped in? Whats this guy up to?
Still pumped abiut this commitment. I held off watching his film until after he committed just in case. His film seems to show he is as advertised. I believe his coach said that he needs to work on his strength, toughness and passivity.
Mick will have quite a coaching challenge next year IMO. He will have a lot of new players or players taking on new roles. It will take some time to gel.
I am not quite ready to pencil Lawrence in as a starter yet but the kid brings playmaking talent in a year we definitely need it. I agree with someone else who said this commitment will make life easier on guyn. Troy Caupain is still a huge get but he may not be needed as bad now for his freshman year.
JDIII will be an interesting piece next year. The kid has a unique ability to just play ball and with confidence.
I struggle to see SK leaving for the nba this year. I watched my first NBA game of this year on friday when the pacers beat the heat. I just dont see how he fits. He is better off staying another year and hopefully building up his name brand recognition and then getting paid overseas.
Anyway this signing changes a lot of things next year for Mick.
