Cunningham just said he has a source very close to Coach Cronin saying Mick will be leaving the University after this season. Says he is absolutely fed up with lack of support from both the fans and the University.
I hate Cunningham and have no idea what to make of this, regardless, it must be addressed. We cannot afford to lose Mick.

You have got to be kidding me. What a load of crap.
WLW the tabloid radio is saying that Mick is upset about the crowds and his money compared to others and will leave after the season. Bill Cunningham is more than likely making it up some but you know what? He has a point. I think right now people are not going to watch little sisters of the poor versus UC. I wish more would. Maybe at minimum buy up season tickets and donate them to a handful a charities that will actually use them. Then when the big boys come use the tickets yourself. Cronin does deserve more support. He also deserves more salary. If he wanted to leave, any school in the country that had an opening would hire him in a heartbeat. It is also time to stop taking him for granted. The people in this city perplex me with their lack of support but will be the first complaining when the success is no longer there.
Its strictly to create listeners.
But honestly would you blame him....UC drew 6k last night (#11 team in the country). If UC provides money to renovate Nippert and not 5/3, that is a slap in the face. Mick has been loyal to the university and that is how they reward him.
I think he is making it up too but don't think for a second that Mick is not disappointed. This town has for too long taken him for granted. The program is not about Huggins - yes, some are still bent even though all those parties are long gone. It is not about a juvenile grudge because he left to improve his coaching skills - and probably witnessed things from his boss he did not respect. This man has re-built this program out of his love of the city and school. Fans need to appreciate that. Yes, the opponent is not that great last night and Saturday but we need to make sure we all get our collective butts in those seats and support this school. You cannot complain that your team and program is not good when you did not support them. I hope UC does reward Cronin with more money. He has the #11 ranked team in the country built with little resources. Coach, if you read this board, know there are many who appreciate you and your efforts.
I don't believe the report but it would suck to get your dream job, bust your ass while a lot of the fan base shits all over you, and then be taken for granted once you start having big time success.
This is odd.
Are we sure cunningham said he was definitely leaving? or just postulating that cronin could / should leave?

Why would anyone ever quote Cunningham? All he does is stir the pot.
You guys are missing the point. Who cares who said that and what the motives are. It's probably very inaccurate but if I'm Mick I'm getting frustrated too. Who wouldn't?
People need to buy some tickets and support the programs. Everyone wants to sit on their couch and watch the games, not send a penny to UC, then complain when lack of funding and support causes turmoil.
I've told several people today that are close freinds....if you are not going to buy tickets then I am not going to listend to your complaints or opinion. We have BIG TIME college sports in this town and a top 10 bball team and everyone acts like Yony Yates is still coaching. These "fans" would rather sit around and gripe than actually go do something to help the program. It's pathetic. Tix are $10 a piece.
Huggs is gone...get over it. The program is in much better hands with Mick, we all know this. He continues to impress each season with his business on and off the court. He develops players, recruits well, good academics and has beaten all of his coaching idols repeatedly....Huggs, Pitino, Behiem (sp), Calhoun, Wright, etc. Bottom line...HE WINS. We all want a winner, well guess what, we've got one!
The guy has done a better job than any other coach would have considering where he started. Big East tix are $13 a ticket. Go support the program!!!
If you can do it, the tip off club is the equivalent to the 1200 club with minimum 1k donation.
I'm debating buying 4 tix for the rest of the season and donating them.
Hopefully the Nippert expansion news comes with 5/3 upgrades.
If I remember correctly, the 5/3 renovations will cost more than the Nippert renovations...is this right?
If things shake out for me personally in the next month. I will also go ahead and buy Basketball season tickets and donate them.
Come on Mick we love ya. Cincinnatians get your arses in the seats.

This is correct, but they also have significantly more potential revenue streams.
Cunningham is in a close race with Cowherd as the dumbest person on earth.
700 WLW is an embarrassment to the city of Cincinnati. Get your radio from somewhere else.
Can any of our sources on this board just quiet this rumor?
I figure he'll be out to get a big raise, but early season attendance has increased every year and I would expect most of the Big East season to be close to a sellout.
Bill Cunningham could be the one to leave Cincinnati since he does his show from Chicago due to taping his "show"
Cunningham was also the one that told his listeners that Cronin's team led the country in having babies. My late father said it best "Cunningham knows"
Wether he is an idiot or not perception is everything..He certainly knows when to attack a man..when he's down.we need Mick"s take on the present .state of UC Bball..
