As fans we all like to comment and dissect everything from the players, coaches, uniforms etc., which is our right as any fan. But we just need to flat out celebrate any postseason victory and enjoy the fact that our Bearcats came out and played with energy and were focused to get a win that 100% locked us into our 3rd straight NCAA tourney appearance. And hey, why not give a shot at beating the #1 seed tomorrow too. There are plenty of teams, including many with arguably more "talent" on their rosters, that will NOT be going dancing this year. Go Bearcats!
One more win boys and we get into the 8/9 game
Obviously things are up for debate when you get into seeding, but I tend to think that the win today has the Bearcats no worse than a #9 seed in the NCAAs regardless of tomorrow. But I think a win tomorrow and maybe they get above the 8/9 game on the positive side of the equation as a #7 seed. Let's just win tomorrow and go from there :)
My guess is if Louisvile or G-town win the Big East Tourney, they will get a 1 seed. I think Gonzaga is a lock as another #1 seed and I see the other 2 #1 seeds going to Duke and Indiana as it stands now. Obviously we wouldn't play Louisville or G-town in a #1 vs #8/#9 and I wouldn't want to see Duke or Indiana this early either. If we could get a matchup w/Gonzaga in round 2 as an 8/9 that would be ideal IMO. I believe the win today makes us an 8/9 seed, a win tomorrow would be a 6/7, win Friday, 5/6 and win Saturday maybe a 3 depending on what else happens but most likey a 4.
Edit - Also would be interesting to see if we are given a bump IF we win the BE tourney based on the success of UCONN and UL in the NCAA's the past 2 years.

or pass that seed?
I think things can change a lot, but I dont see us falling below a 9 right now. Currently I would have UC at an 8 seed which yes I know is higher than ESPN. If we can beat Gtown I think that moves us up at least to a 7.
As I type this, I looked at ESPN to see where Lunardi had us with todays update: 11. He has us at an 11 seed.
If I were a 6 seed I would be furious to be paired with Cincinnati in the first round. No way in hell are we an 11 seed.
It's frustrating, but I would rather face a 3 seed in the second round than a 1 seed. And that's what we would get if we were an 11.
GO BEARCATS!! FIGHT!!! FIGHT!!!! FIGHT!!!!!
Post game video from today. Some good stuff from Mick.
Yeah I don't really think Lunardi is even known for picking seeds very accurate. He just gets most of the teams in. And honestly, who couldn't. It comes down to maybe 4-8 teams every year that could go either way. All you have to do is analyze them to have a pretty good shot at getting it right. They make a big deal out of these bracket guys but I would actually be impressed if they were accurate with their seedings.
Bring on the 11 much more preferable than 8, 9.
Apparently that bracket was put up before our game. I made a comment on it and everyone about ripped me a new one for it.
Still makes no sense to drop us. Lunardi will not respond to UC questions. A few of us have asked him general stuff before and he wont respond. Palm usually answers at least one question regarding UC each bracket. He said after the win that for now he's keeping them at a 9 seed but I think that has to do with just not knowing what is going to happen with the other 7,8,9 seeds right now. IMO UC is at least the best 8 seed if not in the group of 7 seeds right now. While these guys are experts, they don't get it all right.
Lunardi grossly underseeded us the last two seasons, I believe by 2 full seeds one year. I believe he had us as an 8 two years ago and a 7 last year. The man does put in a lot of time but concentrates more on the cutoff line and top 4 seed lines than the 5-10 seeds. I wouldn't worry about it. The committee has shown time and time again they usually respect our profile and we have a pretty good one this year despite the end of season slide.
UC LCoB '12 - @RyanTJBauer
With the loss I can see us at an 8/9 seed. Will now be hoping that we can get under seeded at a 10 or 11.
I too hope this loss pushes us to a 10/11 seed and that we don't see any teams from the Big 10/Big East in the tourney (at least early on). I still believe this team can play with most teams in the other power conferences due to the defense we play and they don't play defense like teams in the Big 10/Big East.
I don't think anyone from another conference will be as physical as Big East teams.
I'm 99.9% sure we're in the tourament. But I can't help but think of the Kennedy year where we were also projected around the 8/9 line and left out. I'm sure we're in. I just don't trust those bastards. Not to mention its clear everybody in America is against this university.
Someone on twitter suggested that the administration made a call to keep us out or the tourney that year due to the upcoming suspensions of James White and Muhammad. I can't validate that statement but I could see where it could be true.
Why would we accept an NIT invite under that premise?
