Grey uni's

  • Orange. Freakin' orange. People are gonna freak out if they look orange on TV.

  • The black shorts kind of look like Bengals camo. Overall though, if you use the eyes of a recruit I think you say that at least look cool or somewhat trend-setting. I don't see how any recruit would look at our uniforms the last few years and be wowed by them. This is an improvment even if some of us hate them.

  • Not a fan if they turn out looking orange. Heard from a former player today who stated that the coach's were none to happy with the when they arrived.

Then they shouldn't wear them. Period. If they can't get the f'n colors right, then we shouldn't be obligated to wear them. I know it's just uniforms, but for cryin out loud, does anyone think other (good) schools put up with this $ht?

On the other hand, Cronin is stating publicly that the players love them and I agree that is all that really matters. Orange is pretty damn stupid though.

  • I think everyone needs to with hold judgement until we see the whole team playing in them either in person or on TV, its to hard to tell in a 3" by 3" picture on a computer. I understand the frustration with the colors being slightly off but until i see them on TV thursday its hard to rip on them to much.

they didn't get the colors wrong. again, look at baylor's. they are attempting to go with highlighter/bright and bold variations of the color. it is an intentional aberration from the red, not a mistake by adidas.

  • Those shorts are awful. Wish we could wear the throwbacks

Not a fan at all! The black looks like some sort of negligee.

neg·li·gee [neg-li-zhey, neg-li-zhey] Show IPA noun 1. a dressing gown or robe, usually of sheer fabric and having soft, flowing lines, worn by women.

I was thinking the same thing. The black, to me, looks kind of like a womans jersey.

  • Love to see how people react. Grey uniforms are not happening and they are not in the locker room. White uniforms were in the locker room and black ones. I LOVE the new black uniforms and I wish I could buy the shorts for myself. Those are some of the best looking shorts I've ever seen for a basketball team. I liked the white uniforms, just wish it looked more red instead of orange.

Now to the Adidas stuff...I really love what Adidas has done far more than what Nike did. If you look bask at the Nike unis for both basketball and football, they were boring and basic. Basketball jerseys with blocks down the side like half the teams in the country. Football jerseys that Have a single strip down the side. All boring. I think UC has some sick football uniforms with the scratches down the pants. The basketball jerseys look pretty awesome with the scratches on the shoulders. They are unique to UC and I feel that Adidas has done an amazing job. Could they be altered? sure they could. I know the players that I talk to want the shoulders to not be as wide. Small adjustments could be made, but Adidas has been great overall. There is also a ridiculous amount of UC apperal in both bookstores and new stuff has come out every year. Not sure what people are complaining about. We don;t have the fan base of OSU and don't have UC stores all around the area, so what they have now is just fine. they've brought in new stuff every year and it has all bee pretty great quality..especially the sweats. If you want to go to Nike, I would refer you to the football uniforms that OSU wore the last 2 seasons against Michigan. They were the most hideous creations ever. I hope you don't want that.

  • I also think the throwbacks are horrible. I hope they are gone after this 50th year celebration is over. Sure they bring back memories for fans, but it was 50 years ago. Uc needs something that represents the younger crowd that are the students and the players.

The jerseys they wore today were not grey at all. the base color was completely white and had a light grey as the accent color on the shorts. They are called the white jerseys, but because of the grey camo, they don't look pure white.

I made that comment because there were people on these boards saying that the uniforms would be a dark grey like this: https://p.twimg.com/AnUPUsSCQAAck73.jpg.

What they wore today is very very white compared to what someone had said before.

    nbshelton729

  • OK, I don't want to get into an argument, but that is grey. If you compare them to the ones Louisville wore the night befoe which are white you can definitely see a difference. In that picture you linked to you can see the difference between the white outline on the numbers to the grey behind it. That middle panel where the number is has none of the stripe design. The base is a light grey.

this isn't worth arguing you are correct. they were grey.

You're the first person I've ever heard complain about the throw backs. Also the first person that loves Adidas' uniforms. I'm a fan of our football jerseys, and really don't mind our basketball jerseys, but how do you think they are better than the Nike ones? Those were incredible, ask the former players - some of them said that was a big reason for them coming to UC.

    BTW, those jerseys are grey.

The thing about the Nike basketball uniforms (with the blocks down the side) is that we had those unis pretty much before anyone else. In other words, everyone else copied UC.

I don't necessarily disagree with you about Adidas. They have been a good partner to UC and I don't totally hate the uniforms absent some adjustments to the basketball uniforms as you mentioned.

Personally, I liked the uniforms yesterday. They were catchy to the eye and I am going to guess the younger people will really like them. Our uniforms are much better than Louisville and Baylor who are the other teams in Adidas' test run. I am looking forward to seeing the black uniforms.
