I agree and as much as I don't think Palm is right in his projection of his seeding for us, I would take the seeding he has us at because of the draw he has for us. 6 SDSU and 3 Baylor to the Sweet 16 - Yes please... ** If they seed us as a 10-12, they are in essence screwing not us but whoever we play. I would hate to be our opening round opponent as a 5/6/7 seed. The only way the committee could stick it to us IMO is to stick us in the 8/9 game...

Lunardi has us as a 9, playing K-State in the 2nd round and UNC if we advance. That makes us the 2nd-weakest 9 seed, behind Southern Miss. I have a hard time believing that Southern Miss is better than us (they get Kansas, the weakest #1 IMO) or Purdue (they get UK).
I would be happy as a 10. I don't care if the 7 gets screwed, as long as we win. Even as a 10, we still get a team like Duke, OSU (wouldn't THAT be interesting) Mizzou, or Michigan State in the 3rd round.
I think we need to win the BET to get to a 6 seed. That is where I would like to be.

I completely disagree. We would have finished in the top 4 of the Big East. Lost in the Quarterfinals of the BET. Regardless who we play, they will have either already won 2 games, or it will be Georgetown. With all of the " good " wins this team has. No way in hell are we out regardless of Thursday. Especially with the bubble being sooo weak, and as of this minute all of the conference favorites winning their conference tournaments.

I tend to think that this is right, as Jerry Palm is a known hater of the Bearcats and obviously just annoyed that we appear to be in good shape. Obviously any more wins is great which is what I hope our team is focused on doing, but the beauty of earning that double bye (which we did by beating the upper part of the Big East conference Mr. Palm) is that even a "stumble" against a Pitt or St. John's team would be against a "cinderella" team that had just won its 3rd game in 3 days including over Georgetown before the Bearcats. You don't knock a team back out of the bracket due to that. The Bearcats beat every one of those teams already this season ON THE ROAD too. So Jerry Palm just flat out sucks, period.

palm doesn't care for UC's OOC scheduling. he doesn't hate uc and he has no reason to hate them. the only reason he has to hate uc are uc fans on twitter who respond to him offensively taking personal shots at him.
the committee uses the RPI. palm's website is collegerpi.com. his job is to forecast who he thinks the committee will admit to the tournament. he doesn't predict who he wants or thinks will make it. he predicts who he thinks the committee will pick.
yes, it is frustrating to see his predictions....but look at uc's blind resume. RPI is horrible, SOS is horrible, OOC SOS is horrible. we beat notre dame before they went on their run. uconn and pitt wins were great at the time but now are not very impressive. louisville win isn't as great as we all think because the basketball writer media doesn't think very highly of them anymore. our great wins are @ georgetown and marquette.
anyone who watches college basketball knows that the way uc is playing right now, they are playing at the caliber of a 4 or 5 seed. however, they won't be able to get that because of what they are on paper. like it or not, what they are on paper is what the committee looks at us as. palm's job is to look at us as the committee would, and make a prediction. he doesn't hate uc. neither does kirk herbstreit. neither does the espn network. neither does rivals.

i'm naive? well said. espn hates uc. so does bilas. so does hubert davis. so does race davis. so does bob knight. so does fowler. so does len elmore, mcdonough, shulman, vitale, fraschilla. anyone else? does that make you happy? convincing yourself a network hates uc so that you can blame someone for not always glowing about your program and bragging about their merits?

This works boths ways. There are programs and leagues that are WAY OVERLY hyped and ranked because of "connections" with the media, and likewise those that are snubbed.
For Texas to be on the bubble is a JOKE. However, they have 13 straight NCAA appearances under Barnes, Musberger sleeps with DeLoss Dodds, and ESPN has a HUGE investment in the LONGHORN NETWORK ( which sells a lot better if UT programs prosper ) .
In addition, no one can deny that Fowler and the gang are all SEC apologists, as opposed to the Knight and Bilas B10 apologists, Digger who is pathetically ND, and Vitale who wears UNC jammies and has Duke sheets on his bed.
McDonough and Shulman are great. They call it like it is.
