  • I'm not in to "what if's" but just think about this...

Up 15 w/ 8 to go against the religion...dude hits 3 pretty much at the buzzer

    Lose in OT to Marshall

Lose in last seconds against St. Johns

    Getting Morgantowned'

    Last seconds at USF...

Can talk about the what ifs after tonight but damn...usually half those type games go ur way...

  • Not claiming to be any kind of basketball visionary, but tonight was very similar to what I thought could happen when we got our rematch against the Golden Eagles. They couldn't defend the goal in the first game against us, and I really thought we could hurt them on the boards. Tonight, we did those things and even though we didn't bury them with 3s, we somewhat surprisingly completely turned the tables in steals and turnovers (and not even mentioning Justin's 7 blocks!)

It would be interesting to see how things would play out in a third meeting on a neutral floor at the BE tourney.

Never thought about that. That's semi depressing. Even 3 more of those and UC would be 24-6.

  • Holy crap! Just perusing the box score and realized for the first time we dominated the No. 7/8 team in the country tonight and did it without Cash scoring a single point!

    Crazy game, that college basketball!

This game reminds me of my Freshman year when L'ville came in with Wes Unseld and Butch Beard at the Armory Field House. It was electric from start to finish. UC jumped on top and never looked back. I hope the story holds!

I will one up you; I remember a Derrick Dickey led team beating a #1 Marquette coached by Al McQuire with Jim Chones and Butch Lee I think; the student section was full, shoulder to shoulder an hour and a half before tipoff and never let up all afternoon.

  • Just to chime in.. I missed the game tonight because I was hospitalized with food poisoning.. May have to go back.. Never eating sushi again..

    But I digress..

I just wanted to add that tonight I had less complaints after a game than I have in years. The only negative on my end was their refusal to give up the three.. But that's habit.. I've gotten to know Yancy and especially Dion over the past 4 years, and to see how much they've grown is unbelievable. They're leaders. I couldn't imagine two better guys to put in that role right now.. I saw most of the game, but I'm going to try and watch the DVR of it tomorrow.

    Until then..

    Go Bearcats!

Have I mentioned lately how much I hat the over rated chant

I'm with you Shaun. Chanting "over-rated" when you're beating the #7 team in the country just dilutes your win. I get why they're chanting it, but I don't like it either.

  • FWIW, ESPN game announcer Bob Wenschusen said " that's the best defensive effort we've seen against Marquette all year ".

And the ESPN Headline Ticker says " Cincinnati Blasts Marquette."

UC finally gettin' some well deserved love. Congratulations Bearcats.

Dont chant Overrated when you are a 1 point favorite.

I do kind of wish MU wouldn't have hit those late 3's or UC would have gotten those rebounds when the game was over in order for it to look like a complete blowout. But the ESPN highlight still made it look like UC controlled the entire game even though the final score didn't really indicate it.

  • Man, I got violently sick lastnight and missed watching the game. I was pissed when I woke up in the middle of the night and found out we kicked their arse.

Good thing is though I am working from home today and just found the game on replay on the U.

Sounds like it was a great crowd lastnight.

The little bit I have watched so far we just look so energized. I know Parker scored 28 but the few minutes I watched he missed some easy ones. Could have had 30+. Great night for him.

There is no doubt the game plan was for Parker to take his man to the rim. He was setup for it all night. He had a monster night and definitely would have had more if he converted a couple more of his layups. He was also fouled a couple times and didnt get the call.
