UC trails 3-1 heading to the 7th.
UC loses 4-1.
Can you believe the offense is this unproductive? Wasn't it a strength going into the season? Any thoughts on what's happened?
You'd also think our batters would be improving with the practice...

Game 2 was scheduled for a 6:30 start. It is currently raining and it does not appear as if it will let up. If the game gets cancelled UC will play both games against Miami May 8th and 9th. If today's game does get played, the May 8th home game against Miami will get cancelled. Miami and UC both scheduled an extra game this season to allow for a rain out. Since neither team has been rained out yet this season, one of the games between the two teams falls off the schedule. The coaches made a deal that whoever finished higher in the Nuxhall classic would get to keep their home game in that situation. Miami made it to the finals, so UC will give up their game.
Xavier loaded the bases with their first 3 batters, but UC was able to hold them to just one run.
Top of the 2nd.
Xavier adds another run in the top of the 2nd.
Middle of the 2nd.
First career home run for Joey Bielek gives UC a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 3rd.
Bottom of the 3rd.
They are working on the field between innings, but the rain is coming down pretty steadily. I wouldn't be surprised to see a delay soon.
RBI single to right ties the game.
Top of the 4th.
Tied at 3-3 through 4 complete and the tarp is coming out.
Tarp is being pulled off the field now.
Andrew Strenge comes out to pitch after the rain delay. Interesting move to go with the normal Friday night starter in relief here.
Justin Glass with an RBI double in the bottom of the 5th gives UC the lead again.
Headed to the top of the 6th.
Through 6 complete UC is holding onto a 4-3 lead.
Top of the 8th and Xavier ties the game back up at 4-4 on a close play at the plate.
Still 4-4 in the top of the 9th.
Xavier gets a man to 3rd with 1 out, but Corey Hough gets a strike out and forces a groundout to end the top half of the 9th.
Up for the Bearcats in the bottom of the 9th is T.J. Jones, Matt Williams, and J.P. Jackson.
Three straight groundouts to SS and we are headed to extra innings.
Xavier scores in the top of the 10th on a groundball through the left side.
Xavier adds one more making it 6-4 on a single to LC.
7-4 on a wildpitch.
UC loses 7-4 in 10 innings.
I know UC doesn't have much of a baseball budget, but...
